Charles Dagnall
Cricket World Cup commentator
He made his impact in first-class cricket with Warwickshire, where he is best remembered for a dramatic last-wicket partnership of 37 in 13 overs with Mohammed Sheikh, which secured victory against local rivals Worcestershire in the 2001 Benson & Hedges Cup.
He joined Leicestershire at the end of the 2001 campaign and was a valuable member of the side that won the 2004 Twenty20 Cup. One of his finest performances came in a group game against Nottinghamshire when he took 4-22 to help secure a dramatic 40-run win. Unfortunately he was forced to retire in 2005 at the age of 28 after a string of injuries limited his participation.
Charles has always had a strong interest in broadcasting and quickly moved into media once his sporting career had finished, covering some of sport’s greatest tournaments including the Cricket World Cup and 5 Premiership rugby finals.
